What the demo shows
Vuzix AR smart glasses applied to solar panel manufacturing and solar sites. Six use cases cover panel cleaning, finding panels on site, remote factory acceptance tests, SOPs, audits and breakdowns. Our AR solutions are developed in collaboration with Vuzix, a maker of hands-free smart glasses.

Who it is for
Operations, maintenance, quality and engineering heads at renewable energy manufacturers and solar plant operators who want fewer site visits and better compliance.
How it works
Solar panel soiling detection
AI assesses how clean each panel is, highlights soiled areas and calculates the effect on efficiency. AR overlays guide cleaning teams and suggest the best cleaning method.
Geo-tagged guidance
Staff scan an RFID tag or QR code to identify a panel instantly and see its maintenance and performance data. The glasses guide them through the site and highlight safety hazards.
Remote factory acceptance tests (FAT)
Tests are live-streamed so customers can watch and take part remotely, with test instructions and digital checklists in view, and visual feedback and documentation for remote supervisors.
SOP guidance
SOPs and instructional videos appear in view, with real-time safety warnings and live help from remote experts. Actions and deviations are logged automatically.
Virtual audits
Auditors watch operations live, direct teams to check specific functions and give real-time feedback, with guidance documents to hand.
Maintenance and breakdowns
Engineers get real-time installation and repair instructions, overlays of machine components and interactive models, and a link to experts anywhere in the world.
The glasses
The Vuzix M400 is designed for all-day wear, with an OLED display, auto-focus camera and built-in scanner, Qualcomm XR1 processor, hot-swappable batteries, multilingual voice control and left or right eye use. The Vuzix Blade 2 adds full-colour waveguide projection, UV-protection lenses with ANSI Z87.1 certification, an autofocus HD camera for streaming, stereo speakers with noise-cancelling microphones, and 5.0 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Where it is used
In renewable energy manufacturing and on solar sites. Connecting remote experts digitally reduces travel, site visits and the number of engineers needed on site, and guided SOPs help teams follow processes and safety standards. Each solution can be tailored to the site.

Frequently asked questions
How are Vuzix smart glasses used in solar and renewable energy manufacturing?
Vuzix AR smart glasses support solar and renewable energy teams in six ways: solar panel soiling detection, geo-tagged guidance to find panels on site, remote factory acceptance tests, SOP guidance, virtual audits, and maintenance and breakdown support. Metaverse911's AR solutions are developed in collaboration with Vuzix, a maker of hands-free smart glasses.
How does AI solar panel soiling detection work with smart glasses?
In solar panel soiling detection, AI assesses how clean each panel is, highlights soiled areas and calculates the effect on efficiency. AR overlays on the Vuzix smart glasses then guide cleaning teams and suggest the best cleaning method, so cleaning effort goes where it is needed.
How can customers attend a factory acceptance test remotely with Vuzix glasses?
With Vuzix smart glasses, factory acceptance tests (FAT) are live-streamed so customers can watch and take part remotely. Test instructions and digital checklists stay in view for the person running the test, and remote supervisors get visual feedback and documentation, reducing the need for travel and site visits.
How do solar site staff find a panel's data using smart glasses?
Solar site staff scan an RFID tag or QR code to identify a panel instantly and see its maintenance and performance data on the Vuzix smart glasses. The glasses also guide them through the site and highlight safety hazards along the way.
How do Vuzix smart glasses reduce site visits for renewable energy companies?
Vuzix smart glasses connect remote experts digitally with on-site teams, which reduces travel, site visits and the number of engineers needed on site. Engineers get real-time repair instructions and component overlays, auditors can watch operations live, and guided SOPs with automatic logging help teams follow processes and safety standards.
