VR safety training

Practise what to do in a fire, a chemical spill, working at height or around moving machinery, without any real danger. VR makes safety training memorable, and it can be repeated until the right response is automatic.

  • Fire safety, PPE, lockout/tagout, working at height, forklift safety
  • Realistic hazard spotting in your own plant layout
  • Pass/fail records for compliance and audits

Used by: ASKA (gamified fire-safety simulation at Transform HSE 2025), workplace safety programmes for FMCG and manufacturing.

More about VR safety training

What VR safety training is

Some safety skills cannot be practised for real: you cannot start a fire or a chemical spill to see how people react. VR safety training puts the trainee in a realistic work environment and walks them through a job or an incident from permit to closure. The virtual space reacts to what they do, so mistakes have visible consequences without anyone getting hurt.

VR safety training

Who it is for

  • EHS teams in manufacturing and FMCG plants.
  • Plant heads who need consistent safety training across shifts and sites.
  • Compliance teams who need pass and fail records for audits.
  • Organisations with a multilingual workforce.

How it works

Each module is set in a realistic environment: a workshop, office, oil storage tank, industrial store, underground tunnel, control room, road or warehouse. Trainees:

  • take and sign permits;
  • put on PPE;
  • collect and check their tools;
  • place warning signs and barricades;
  • lock and tag equipment;
  • talk to colleagues and dispatch;
  • respond to hazards and injuries.

Three modes per module

  • Learning: the trainee is shown the correct procedure.
  • Training: the trainee practises it, as many times as needed.
  • Exam: the trainee completes it alone and gets a pass or fail result.

Every module follows the same structure, which makes it easier to roll out and track. Modules are available in several languages, so people train in the language they are most comfortable with.

What is included

  • Modules on fire safety, PPE, lockout/tagout, working at height and forklift safety.
  • Hazard spotting set in your own plant layout.
  • Learning, Training and Exam modes in every module.
  • Multi-language support.
  • Pass and fail records for compliance and audits.

Supported devices

Modules run on standalone headsets, including Meta Quest devices, and on PC VR headsets.

Where it has been used

ASKA ran a gamified fire-safety simulation at Transform HSE 2025. Our VR safety training is also used in workplace safety programmes for FMCG and manufacturing companies.

Frequently asked questions

Which safety topics are covered?

Fire safety, PPE, lockout/tagout, working at height and forklift safety, along with hazard spotting in your own plant layout.

How do we prove that training was completed?

Each module has an Exam mode that records a pass or fail result for every trainee. These records support compliance and audits.

Can workers train in their own language?

Yes. The modules support multiple languages.

Which headsets does it run on?

Standalone headsets such as Meta Quest, and PC VR headsets.

What are the Learning, Training and Exam modes in VR safety training?

Every VR safety training module has three modes. In Learning mode the trainee is shown the correct procedure. In Training mode they practise it as many times as needed. In Exam mode they complete it alone and get a pass or fail result. The same structure in every module makes rollout and tracking easier.
