What the demo shows

An immersive experience centre set up inside a college or university. It brings together an AR and VR lab, a learning platform, a virtual campus tour and subject simulations, so students can apply theory with 3D models and interactive exercises.

Who it is for

Colleges and universities that want hands-on AR and VR learning without building and maintaining more physical labs, and admissions teams that want to show the campus to students who cannot visit.

How it works

Lab with Jio Glass and SDK

Jio Glass works in both VR and AR modes and weighs just 68 grams, so it stays comfortable through long sessions. It comes with a software development kit (SDK), which lets students create and deploy their own immersive content.

XR Learn platform

Faculty build courses with videos, 3D models and quizzes, and see real-time analytics on progress. Students open courses on several devices, including Jio Glass and Jio Dive.

360° VR campus tour

A 360° VR walkthrough of the campus, with hotspots on labs, libraries and classrooms. Prospective students can take it from anywhere, on the web, Jio Dive or Jio Glass.

XR simulations

Custom VR and AR simulations let students work with interactive 3D models of complex concepts. They are a risk-free, lower-cost alternative to some physical lab experiments and can be updated as the curriculum changes.

Where it is used

On campus, as a shared centre for teaching, student projects and admissions. Fewer physical labs and less outdated equipment mean lower maintenance and material costs, and the tools can be updated as technology moves on.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is an AR and VR experience centre for colleges built on Jio Glass?

An AR and VR experience centre for colleges is an immersive lab set up inside a college or university. It combines Jio Glass headsets, the XR Learn course platform, a 360° VR campus tour and XR subject simulations, so students apply theory with 3D models and interactive exercises and build their own content.

What is Jio Glass and why is it used in college XR labs?

Jio Glass is a headset that works in both VR and AR modes and weighs just 68 grams, so it stays comfortable through long sessions. In college XR labs it comes with a software development kit (SDK), which lets students create and deploy their own immersive content.

What is the XR Learn platform for colleges?

XR Learn is a course platform used in the college AR and VR experience centre. Faculty build courses with videos, 3D models and quizzes and see real-time analytics on student progress. Students open the courses on several devices, including Jio Glass and Jio Dive.

How does a 360° VR campus tour help college admissions?

A 360° VR campus tour lets prospective students explore the campus from anywhere, on the web, Jio Dive or Jio Glass. The walkthrough includes hotspots on labs, libraries and classrooms, which helps admissions teams show the campus to students who cannot visit in person.

Can XR simulations replace physical lab experiments in colleges?

XR simulations can act as a risk-free, lower-cost alternative to some physical lab experiments in colleges. Custom VR and AR simulations let students work with interactive 3D models of complex concepts, and they can be updated as the curriculum changes. Fewer physical labs also mean lower maintenance and material costs.
