One HoloBox on the Shahi Exports stand at Bharat Tex 2026 carried a whole collection: life-size model walks and garments turning at true scale, glasses-free in a lit hall, for all four days.

We filmed real garment samples and a model in one studio session against a controlled background, then isolated, graded and mastered the footage for the display. We also ran the playback, which played unattended for the whole show.

What it was used for

  • Presenting complete looks at life size, with the impact of a runway but no physical catwalk
  • Showing many garments digitally, so not every physical sample had to be on the stand
  • Letting buyers see silhouettes, embroidery and fabric detail at realistic human scale
  • Supporting guided visits and collection introductions for customers and partners
Case study

The full case study

Shahi Exports runs a holographic runway on its Bharat Tex 2026 stand

Summary

Shahi Exports hired a HoloBox for its stand at Bharat Tex 2026 and used it as a holographic runway. A model walked at full height and garments turned at true scale, visible to the naked eye in a fully lit hall. The collection ran all day across four days, and visitors took 1,000+ selfies with it.

The challenge

Fabric is bought on drape and fall, and neither shows on a static form. A mannequin holds one look until someone re-dresses it, and a rail reduces every garment to a sleeve.

A stand also gets only seconds of attention from people walking the aisle, and visitors arrive throughout the day. Shahi needed a way to show the whole collection in motion, all day, without a catwalk or a scheduled show.

What we built

We shot real samples and a model against a controlled background in a single studio session. We then isolated, graded and mastered the footage for holographic playback. That one shoot produced the whole reel: every look the stand showed across the four days.

The reel was loaded locally onto the HoloBox, which shows photorealistic, life-size content inside a transparent enclosure. It needed only mains power: no network, no rigging, no lighting package and no operator on the stand.

How it worked on the day

A life-size runway on the stand

Complete looks played at life size, giving the effect of a runway without a physical catwalk.

The range without every sample

Many garments and collection highlights were shown digitally, so the stand did not need to display every physical sample.

Garments at full scale

Garments appeared at human scale, so visitors could see the silhouette, styling and overall presentation clearly.

Running all day, offline

The reel played on loop, independent of the venue's network, so anyone passing could watch without waiting for a scheduled presentation.

Results

Visitors took 1,000+ selfies with the holographic runway during Bharat Tex 2026. Shahi showed its full collection in motion, at true scale, for four days from one studio shoot and one unit.

The same unit can do more than a runway. Without reconfiguring it, it can support guided factory tours with leadership presentations, collection previews, meetings and a permanent showroom display, which is worth weighing when choosing between a hire and an install.

Frequently asked questions

What is a hologram display?

It shows photorealistic, life-size content, such as a person, a product or a garment, inside a transparent enclosure, so it looks as if it is standing in the room. Viewers need no headset.

How is holographic content produced?

For Shahi, we filmed real samples and a model against a controlled background in one studio session, then isolated, graded and mastered the footage for holographic playback.

Does the unit need internet to run?

No. The finished reel loads locally onto the unit and plays on schedule or on loop, so nothing depends on venue Wi-Fi or bandwidth.

Do viewers need headsets or 3D glasses?

No. Everyone in the aisle sees the hologram with the naked eye at the same time, with nothing to wear or queue for.

Can we update the content later?

Yes. The reel is a file. New looks, a new season or a fresh edit load onto the unit without touching the hardware, and we handle the re-shoot and re-master when the range changes.

What does a hologram display need to run?

Mains power and its content. In Shahi's case the content was loaded locally, with no network at all. The unit arrives self-contained.

How long does deployment take?

For a hire like this: a studio session with the samples, post-production, a content load and a positioning check on the stand, scheduled around the normal build-up days. We handle hardware, content and show management from start to finish.

About Bharat Tex 2026

Bharat Tex is India’s flagship global textile event. The Ministry of Textiles describes it as the world’s largest integrated textile fair: one platform covering fibre and yarn, fabrics, garments, home textiles, technical textiles, handlooms, handicrafts and textile machinery. It launched in 2024 and runs every year, and 2026 was the third edition.

Bharat Tex 2026: a holographic runway for Shahi Exports

Dates, venue and organiser

  • Dates: Tuesday 14 to Friday 17 July 2026, inaugurated by Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh
  • Venue: Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, with the exhibition spread across more than 16 lakh square feet
  • Organiser: Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF), an umbrella body of 11 textile Export Promotion Councils and other industry organisations, chaired by Shri Naren Goenka with Co-Chairman Shri Bhadresh Dodhia
  • Supported by: the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India
  • Theme: "Weaving Indian Textiles Excellence into Fabric of Global Growth"

Eight states sponsored the 2026 edition: Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Key industry sponsors were Trident, Vardhman Textiles, RSWM, Shahi Exports, Colorjet, Arvind, PDS Limited and Sattva.

Focus of the show

The floor follows the Prime Minister’s 5F vision for textiles, from Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign. For an international buyer, that means comparing suppliers from raw fibre to finished garment in one visit. For Indian exporters, particularly MSMEs, it puts overseas buyers, state investment agencies, machinery suppliers and policymakers in one place.

  • Fibre, yarn, fabric and processing: natural and man-made fibres, spinning, woven and knitted fabrics, dyeing, printing and finishing
  • Apparel, fashion, home textiles and craft: including the Tirupur, Ichalkaranji and Ahmedabad clusters
  • Technical textiles, machinery and sustainability: engineered fabrics for medical, protective, agricultural, geotextile and industrial use, with sustainability and circularity as named focus areas

Around the exhibition ran reverse buyer-seller meets, curated B2B meetings, state investor sessions, an International Pavilion and the Global Textile Dialogue knowledge programme.
